SOLVABILITY OF EQUATIONS IN VARIETIES OF UNIVERSAL ALGEBRAS

Abstract.
We study classes of universal algebras in a variety that are closed under the formation of Cartesian products, homomorphic images and extensions. We prove a Birkhoff type theorem for such axiomatic classes.
