These are precisely the linear functionals which also preserve multiplication, i.e., f(ab)=f(a)f(b). [The comma after i.e. is optional.]

[Note the difference between namely and that is: while namely introduces specific or extra information, that is (or i.e.) introduces another way of putting what has already been said.]
