Abstract

We discuss in detail the error bounds for asymptotic solutions of second-order linear difference equation 𝑦 ( 𝑛 + 2 ) + 𝑛 𝑝 𝑎 ( 𝑛 ) 𝑦 ( 𝑛 + 1 ) + 𝑛 𝑞 𝑏 ( 𝑛 ) 𝑦 ( 𝑛 ) = 0 , where 𝑝 and 𝑞 are integers, 𝑎 ( 𝑛 ) and 𝑏 ( 𝑛 ) have asymptotic expansions of the form 𝑎 ( 𝑛 ) 𝑠 = 0 ( 𝑎 𝑠 / 𝑛 𝑠 ) , 𝑏 ( 𝑛 ) 𝑠 = 0 ( 𝑏 𝑠 / 𝑛 𝑠 ) , for large values of 𝑛 , 𝑎 0 0 , and 𝑏 0 0 .
